A national youth movement that provides its members with the best tools for their development and social and ethical empowerment.
ABOUT OHR YISRAELI
A youth movement established by Israel Prize recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, in order to provide youth at-risk with a complementary educational framework for the afternoon hours, as an alternative to roaming the streets aimlessly, as well as life skills and values such as courtesy, respect for their parents, giving back and a love for their country.

OUR STORY
SPREADING THE LIGHT
In the summer of 2006, during the time of the Second Lebanon War, thousands of teenagers in Northern Israel were cut off from their educational and social frameworks for months.
Israel Prize recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman initiated the establishment of a number of centers in the northern region, where teenagers could meet, learn, play, make new friends and share experiences. From Rabbi Grossman’s initiative, the Ohr Yisraeli Youth Movement was established.
After the fighting in the north ended, news of the interesting new youth movement spread by word of mouth across the country, and the demand to open more branches grew. Rabbi Grossman decided that in light of the project’s success in the north, and the impressive improvement in the behavior and conduct of the teenagers, the organization would develop and spread, and an infrastructure would be developed and include a network of branches in every city and town. Each branch would offer set activities with a focus on values and personal advancement, together with Jewish studies and a love of Israel.
