About Migdal Ohr

Migdal Ohr is home to thousands of children and youth at-risk, providing them with warmth and love, support and education, so they can overcome social and economic gaps and reach their full potential.  Migdal Ohr introduces them to new worlds, providing them with many opportunities to break out of the circle of hardship and integrate successfully in Israeli society.

Migdal Ohr was established by Israel Prize Recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman in 1972, and since then, it has raised many generation of children and youth with love and acceptance, which they sorely need to grow and become confident and independent adults.

Migdal Ohr alumni integrate into all fields of life in the State of Israel, raise families and have an impact on the Israeli society as a whole.

Our Story

50 years of giving pack, spreading light and unconditional love

Migdal Ohr was founded in 1972 in the city of Migdal HaEmek by Israel Prize Recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, in order to provide the city’s children, who did not grow up in a warm and loving home, with a supportive and loving educational framework to ensure their futures.  Rabbi Grossman and his wife, Rebbetzin Esther opened their home to 18 children and raised them as their own.  The city’s great hardships led to more and more children at-risk and the Rabbi and Rebbetzin decided to establish an educational institution for them, where they could be educated and grow up happily.

The small class grew into an expansive campus, which currently offers various and diverse educational frameworks for thousands of children, every day, from infancy to adulthood.

For more than 50 years, Migdal Ohr Organization has operated, raising exemplary young men and women who fill positions in all of the life circles of the State of Israel.

Ensure the future of Israel’s children providing each and every boy and girl the right education, guidance and tool in order to develop and integrate into Israeli society

Daycare Centers

Infants and babies need warmth, love and security provided to them by their parents.  The educational staff accepts and provides the babies with all their needs,  in order to grow, become wise, learn and become educated with happiness, laughter and enjoyment.

Family-based Residences

In the residential program, families live alongside the children in the dormitories who have not experienced a sense of belonging known as ‘family.’  They envelop them in love, provide them with stability, strength and support and give them the feeling that they are not alone in the world.

Elementary to High School

The schools and wonderful educational staff, whose members are committed to providing their pupils with an excellent education, values, courtesy and tools to grow up with confidence and to succeed in their lives, dream and reach their potentials.

Enrichment Programs

Migdal Ohr pupils attend enrichment classes, offering them the opportunity to learn and gain experience in various fields.

Cooking Up the Future

The catering and hospitality training program is an entrée into the workforce, and pupils can one day integrate into the hotel and restaurant services fields.

Israeli Home

Migdal Ohr graduates receive a scholarship to help them pay for their wedding and to furnish their new home.

Special Education

Enabling pupils with special needs to maximize their social, cognitive and emotional abilities and helping them integrate into society in an optimal manner.

All a child needs is one adult to believe in them.

The Migdal Or Association provides a solution to all the needs a child needs to grow and succeed. From basic necessities to personal empowerment.

Basic Needs

Basic needs such as housing, adoptive families, nutrition, clothing, health services, emotional support, school supplies, in order to grow up healthy and properly taken care of.

Education

An educational environment that provides the children with values-based education as well as guidance, enrichment and professional training, so they will be independent and successful when they grow up.

Empowerment

Leadership development, community involvement and opportunities to integrate into the workforce, help the children find their way and to give back to society.
