Behind the changes that our pupils succeed in making to their lives, stand the amazing teachers and counselor staff, who have never ever given up on them for a minute.
Nadav is one such person, a therapeutic horseback riding counselor at Zoharim Youth Village, which was established by Israel Prize Recipient, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman.
Nadav’s story at the youth village began in 2009: “I worked at the youth village as a horseback riding counselor for a year and a half. I later left to become the director of ranch at a special education school. Three years later, I returned to the youth village as the director of the horse ranch, and today? I am in my sixth year at the youth village as the ranch director. I always had a good connection with children and youth. Work with youth at-risk has always attracted me very much. The added value in this work surpasses everything. I was looking to do something with meaning. The connection is natural – these are amazing teens”.
We asked Nadav what he likes most about working with youth at-risk.
“The connection with the teens, the profound in-depth conversations. Their dedication, fierce desire to learn something new, to invest in it, to see progress. The moment others believe in these teens, they soar forward. It is amazing.”
