The war prevented Zoharim Youth Village 11th graders from participating in the challenging desert trek; however, they have already learned – never give up! Now, as 12th graders, they are going to the Negev to discover our beautiful country, but primarily to discover themselves.
The desert trek is held every year and enables pupils to experience the desert, to cope with the physical and emotional challenges, to gain the tools to cope with life’s challenges, to develop emotional fortitude and belief in their own abilities and to strengthen their sense of competence. Through a therapeutic – educational intervention in the field, over 5 days of a challenging trek, they gain new abilities and reveal others that they didn’t know they had, prior to entering society.
